Mattix is the type of dog that comes along once in a lifetime and turns heads wherever he goes. I don't know which is better; his sweet face, or his sweet personality! His easy going nature and up-for-anything attitude just makes life FUN.
He was born to show, and amazes me every time we step into the ring together. His very first time out at 4 months old he took Best Beginner Puppy in Show at a large all-breed. He followed that up with numerous other Best Puppy in Shows and Herding Group Ones until he was old enough to compete with the big boys. In true Mattix fashion, at his very first show he decided to top everything off with a Best of Breed and Group 4 right out of the 6-9 class. He finished just after his first birthday with 4 specialty wins, always owner-handled.
Like his sire and grandsire before him, Mattix excels in his beautiful eye and melting expression. He has a strong front assembly with his legs well underneath him, good layback of shoulder and correct length of upper arm that is hard to find. He has an abundant and correct coat and good amount of bone without being overdone. He never went through a gangly period and simply grew up and matured beautifully.
