I started out the same way we all start out in dogs; finding the one dog (or more appropriately, the one finding us) that simply change our heart and soul forever. Maple waltzed into my life right after I had just lost my mother to cancer when I was twelve years old. Our bond was instant and ran incredibly deep, and I found myself looking for things we could do together. Soon I found dog shows and the rest was history.

It is because of Maple's impact on my life that I decided to dedicate my kennel name to her. She was named after Vermont for our wonderful summer home on the lake owned by my Mom's family. It is my favorite place in the world to this day.

Maplecove has been active since 1999 when I first got into the dog show world. Since then I have been incredibly fortunate to find friends and mentors with successful breeding programs that never hesitated to share their knowledge with me. Among those people were Heidi Jacobson of Darmil Shelties, Carole Patten of Oyez Shelties, and Carol Howell of Jade Mist Shelties. Through these people I have learned to appreciate depth in one's breeding program and to strive for success on a much higher level.

When I am not with the dogs or traveling across the country, I can be found at home running my own business, Showtime Design. Years ago, I found a definite need for better web site design, and despite going to college for Psychology and Philosophy, my free time was spent on my iMac glued to Photoshop. I started to do sites for friends as something fun, and soon after my work caught on like wildfire. I never got into it for the money, but to simply do what I love every single day of my life. The fact that it has exceeded every expectation has been a dream come true.

I find myself very thankful for both the dogs, and the people they have brought into my life. This is truly my passion and there is nothing better than looking out my window at all of the beautiful faces running through my backyard.
