I started out the same way we all start out in dogs; finding the one dog (or more appropriately, the one finding us) that simply change our heart and soul forever. I was lucky enough to find Maple, my "soul dog", early on in life right after my mother had passed away. I consider her to be my guardian angel, and the dog shows managed to find me at a time I needed them the most.

Maplecove has been active since 1999 when I first started showing in Junior Handling. During this time, I started traveling and working with Joe and Terrie Breen of Takara Akitas, and had the pleasure of watching their special's career blossom from a Best In Show, to taking BOB at their National Specialty. Through my friendship with the Breens, I have learned to appreciate depth in one's breeding program and to strive for success on a much higher level.

While in college, I attended shows and handled for friends, but didn't have enough time (or space!) to devote to another dog. Once I graduated, the opportunity to own some quality packed dogs was in my reach, and I could never thank my good friend Heidi Jacobson for sharing some of her best with me.

Aside from the dogs, I graduated college as a double major in both Psychology and Philosophy. While I love both of these areas immensely, the arts have always had my heart, so I found myself starting up my own graphic design business as something "fun" at school. To my amazement, Showtime Design has become one of the most in demand businesses out there to produce web and ad designs for show dogs. But if that wasn't enough, I work part-time at a fun little gift shop with some wonderful people. Life is too short, andI love having my hand in a lot of things to keep life interesting!

I truly believe that the friendships I have found through the dog world are worth more than anything I could ever attain in wins. I would like to especially thank Carole Patten, Heidi Jacobson, Carol Howell and Sherry Bishop for not only their support in dogs, but most importantly, their support in life. After losing my mother to cancer some 12 years ago, and very recently, losing her mother (my Nana), one learns that you cherish the relationships in life that truly matter, and reflect that onto those you really care about. I strive to live by that every day.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me and don't hesitate to get in touch! I love hearing from my visitors.
