Maplecove Shelties :: Delaware Sheltie Breeder

Maplecove Shelties is situated in the beautiful Brandywine Valley of Delaware on an acre just minutes from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Baltimore, Maryland. We have been active in showing dogs for the past thirteen years and are a member of the American Shetland Sheepdog Association, Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Baltimore, secretary and member of the Interstate Shetland Sheepdog Club, and Delaware County Kennel Club. Our dogs are specialty winners and have proven themselves in the show ring, whelping box, and as lovable family companions.

We keep our numbers small and house around four dogs in order to give them the attention they deserve. They are house dogs first and foremost, and can be found hogging the couch or bed on a regular basis. Each litter of Sheltie puppies is carefully planned and we perform all the proper health tests such as hips, eyes and thyroid before breeding. As a responsible breeder, we abide by the standard set forth by the American Shetland Sheepdog Association in hopes of producing beautiful dogs of sound structure and stable temperaments. Please note that we do not support puppy mills, only responsible breeders.

We have a new litter sired by Reese.

	Dotsie is back out and has consistently placed in her large Bred-by class at the last 4 specialties. We are eager for her to be back in coat for the spring shows.

Dotsie is back in action! After a 2 year hiatus from the ring, she took WB/BOS from the Bred-By class under judge Monica Canestrini at the Talbot KC.

Dotsie does it again, and takes WB under breeder-judge Al Bianchi at the Salisbury Maryland KC, and then reserve the next day. Not bad for her first weekend out in years!

	NEW GRAND CHAMPION - Charlotte finishes by winning her 5th major under judge Douglas Windsor at the Penn Ridge KC show.

	Dotsie is currently training in herding and shows a lot of natural talent and confidence. We are very excited to see what her future holds in this sport!

	Charlotte wins Best of Breed over tough competition and gets pulled in group at the Wilmington Kennel Club show under judge James Noe.

	Charlotte wins Select bitch for a 4-pt GCH major at the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Baltimore under judge Mr. Glen Stark.

	Charlotte takes Best of Opposite Sex at the Three Rivers Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Pittsburgh specialty under breeder-judge Jean Simmonds. Thank you Jean!

	Reese wins his first 2 points from the puppy class at only his second show under judge Beverly Capstick! We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this promising puppy with such a wonderful start.

	Charlotte takes Select bitch for a 4-pt GCH major at the Colonial Shetland Sheepdog Club under judge Mrs. Katie Gammill.

NEW CHAMPION - L.A. finished by taking back-to-back wins under judges Monica Canestrini and Sandy Wheat at the Chesapeake and Upper Marlboro KC. She is looking forward to a life of a bed dog!

Charlotte takes Select bitch for a 4-pt GCH major in an entry of 13 specials, and L.A. takes Reserve Winners Bitch at the Triangle Shetland Sheepdog Club of North Carolina under breeder-judge Glenda Henson.

L.A. wins a 4 point specialty major at the Tidewater Shetland Sheepdog Club show under breeder-judge Beverly Llewellyn. Just a few singles to go!
